Television infrastructure comes in two options. OTA (Over The Air), and terrestrial (Coaxial/Fiber Optic). In either case, the option will be to deliver quality television for the subscriber. Network Stations will be free no matter which option is used. Cable, and Premium stations will cost money, but might be worth it to the subscriber. Cable and Premium stations are only available on terrestrial services.
OTA is typically thought of using an antenna to acquire the signals from the air. They will then watch their network stations. Ka-Tel owns the radio bands that TV stations are using. With that said, they will eventually phase out OTA television from the scene. This will happen only when fiber optic is rolled out into the viewing area.
In the case of terrestrial options, if the area has coaxial, or fiber optic as an option, then OTA will not be an option. If coaxial is an option, then the customer has access to terrestrial television services. If the customer only has a basic TV, then a smart TV adapter will be required. However, all television when terrestrial is an option will be the only option. The adapter will likely connect via Wifi.
TV manufacturers in Kaldus will need their TVs to be a smart TV, and will require an RJ45 jack in the back of the TV. There will be no requirement for a coaxial connection, and if there is a need for an antenna for OTA television, then Ka-Tel will provide a set-top box that would be free to use. The set top box will have a built in 128GB drive which will record shows. This is again only if OTA is the only option.
