Basic TVs might be seen as those CRT 4:3 TVs, but there are some basic LCD TVs as well. In Kaldus, LCD basic TVs will be allowed to be sold, but they will need a smart TV adapter since there will be no over the air TV signals anymore. Old CRT TVs will simply no longer work. This is because, they only have a coaxial port, and no HDMI for an adapter to plug into. With that being said, the government will give incentives to replace their old CRT TVs. This incentive will give options for the person in getting a new LCD TV – whether smart or not.
All new basic TVs these days must support at least 1 HDMI port for the smartTV adapter. The network connectivity will assume from the adapter. LCD TVs must be 16:9 or 8:5, and support at least 1080p resolution. Larger screens will likely have a higher resolution. The owner should not have to view pixels in their TVs.
