Services

Ka-Tel is the national ISP (Internet Service Provider). Since Ka-Tel is a monopoly, they will be required by law to provide an affordable internet service package. However, it will be reasonable to assume that there is a complete mess of various cables, and lines that is being used for the Internet. With that in mind, and with help from the national government, there will be an eventual rollout of Fiber Optic throughout the nation. This is to standardize the internet networks, and give everyone an even, and sustainable solution. However for those without fiber will need to replace their current internet service with BPL (Broadband over Power Line). This service will give at most 100MBPS, and will be a stopgap measure until fiber can be rolled out. Fiber Optic can support Terabytes of data at one time, and it would be likely that the hardware can’t handle the full potential.

Coaxial or telephone internet services will be phased out for either BPL, or Fiber Optic. If Fiber Optic is an option in the service area, then Fiber will be the only option. Otherwise, it will be BPL. This allows for communications closets to have only one jack for internet services which will connect with Fiber Optic once the service becomes available in the area. This is again to reduce the need for various WAN connections, and therefore a need to have multiple jack ports for repair issues. If everything is RJ45, then there is only one jack required to be worked with.
