Every subscriber will receive internet services ranging from 10MBPS – 2GBPS. If their only service option is DSL, or Coaxial, then they will receive a free modem. The modem will have an RJ45 connection to connect to the router, and a WAN termination point for the service they have access to. For communities that has fiber, they will be re-terminated to connect via RJ45, and therefore no modem will be required. The customer would simply connect their router to the RJ45 (WAN) connection, and they will be able to access the internet.
Email Service
For email service, every customer will receive 1 free web.ka address. This will be their NIN@web.ka. They will also be able to setup an alias if that is something they will wish to do. Therefore, if Frank’s NIN is 52022554377, then his email address is 52022554377@web.ka. He might be able to select an alias of frank@web.ka. Once the alias is selected, it can not be changed unless they terminate service, and it has been 6 months since service has been terminated.
WordPress Site
For a website, each premise will have a single web.ka WordPress site. The subscriber will not have FTP access to their account, but WordPress offers solutions to upload files to the site, and this will be no different. The only condition is that the NIN must be the address. This will mean that Frank’s web address will be https://52022554377.web.ka. This is designed to make the SQL database that will manage all of the sites easier to manage. The alias will be a redirect. So Frank’s alias will be https://frank.web.ka which will redirect to https://52022554377.web.ka
VPN Services
Service also includes a free VPN connection. While this may sound strange that the ISP will provide a VPN, there is recognition that the customer will not always be at their premise. Instead, they may have to go out and do things. If they have to connect to an open Wifi network, then the VPN will be invaluable to have. Data is a little slower with VPN on, but all data between the device, and VPN server will be encrypted – therefore allowing for a secured traffic. The VPN will be managed by Ka-Tel’s servers, so the ISP will still be able to learn what is going on if there were to be any illegal activity performed.
Storage Management
Each account will receive 15GB for both website, and email. While 15GB is a lot, a popular person might find themselves with getting close to running out of space. There are are a few things they can do to management their storage space. Below will be designed to advise what to do. Not every solution is best for everyone.
For email management, the first thing to do will be to go through your service, and find all of the emails with large attachments. 1,000MB = 1GB. Links to large file downloads do not count, but the actual file(s) attached to the email will count. Make notes of everything in the email that has the large files, and delete them. Also, if you have a lot of emails from someone that no longer writes you, then it might make sense to delete those emails. While not as intensive as the attachment emails, every little bit will help if you are strapped for space. After that, it would be time to look into your Inbox. If you have hudnreds or thousands of emails, than those will definitely take up space. Clean out your inbox. If you need to, go scorched earth, and delete everything in your inbox. I would then contact the people that are most important, and informed them that you had to clean out your inbox. If they are missing anything from you, then they could write again. Go to your SPAM, and Junk folder, do a scan over the subject, and delete all of those emails that is actually SPAM. Needless to say, you don’t want those emails. Last, Empty (or Purge) your trash folder. This will make all of the deletions you did final, and that should go a long way in freeing up your email account.
For websites, you will be using WordPress. Remove any users you don’t want access with your WordPress Site. Delete any images you don’t use for your website. Once you done that, you would want to delete any templates or plugins from your site that you don’t use. While note as intensive as email, it will still go a long way. You can always go to Services > Internet > Web.ka to see how much space you are using.
