Internet is a powerful, and capable platform. With that in mind, Ka-Tel will be in charge of the internet services within the nation. This will include being the only ISP in the country, and providing registrar services for the .ka domain. The policy of Kaldus defines that everyone has a right to express themselves, and make themselves known if that is something they choose to do. They also have the right to privacy, and confidentiality. Ka-Tel’s policy is as follows
- Everyone has the right to be known
- Everyone has the right to be unknown
- Everyone has the right to understand
- Everyone has the right to privacy protection
- Everyone has the right to the Internet
Right to Be Known
Domain registries cost money. Some people may not be able to afford a domain, and hosting of that domain, especially since they will also have to have a secured certificate for that domain. However, these should not be a factor in being known on the internet. With that said, any subscriber will have the right to having their own SSL enabled website. This will be UID.web.ka. In example, I might get frank as my user ID, and therefore my address will be https://frank.web.ka. I may not like the address, but it is mine, and it will be free. On top of the site’s address, I can choose to redirect to another site, or have it hosted with Ka-Tel. Hosting will be free, and provide for 15GB of storage for both the site, and email. Since the site will be setup using WordPress, I would not need to FTP login into my site, and instead use the web admin panel to manage pages.
Right to Be Unknown
I also have a right to be unknown. If I don’t want myself on the internet, that is my right. I could choose to just browse the internet, and maybe use email. All email when hosted through Ka-Tel will be encrypted with a PPG key. This key is free, and provided to all .ka addresses hosted with Ka-Tel.
Right to Understand
Everyone is likely using one product or service that has a TOS policy, or user agreement. Usually lawyers will make these policies long, and complex. Any business operating in Kaldus must provide a common speak TOS policy. They can choose to have both, but the one that the customer is agreeing to must be in a language that is written by a lawyer. This is intended to actually give the person the right to understand what they are getting, and at one cost to them.
Privacy Protection
The encrypted emails, and SSLs is a step toward that privacy protection. This goes even further. For example, in the directory assistance, the subscriber can choose what information they disclose (with minimum of name, and telephone). This goes one step further. There will be WHOIS privacy that the subscriber can choose to elect. By having this WHOIS privacy, just the name, and email address is disclosed. This goes a long way in providing privacy. An email address is required to allow dispute communication with the owner, and someone challenging the right to ownership. This email address must always be accurate, and will be tested every year.
Right to the Internet
Everyone has a right to connect with the Internet. With that said, Ka-Tel will have a free internet plan. This means every service that Ka-Tel offers will have a free option to allow the subscriber to be connected to the world to do what they wish to do with the internet. The free plan is up to 10MBPS which is the minimum standard for broadband access.
